Artist's Description

Painted in 1999. This painting is about building a bridge to the next Century. The forest in the background represents the forests of the Earth. Its form is in the shape of a bridge, to represent that the pathway into the 21st Century involves caring for our forests.

The life-giving water pouring down from the cliffs and breathing trees are important themes in this painting. The message is about nature and natural resources. It is about our personal and collective responsibility to care for the Earth as we build and cross that bridge as individuals and as a collective society. The red sky is a warning.
